In this video I show you how to photograph jewelry like a pro. I will show you the steps I take for best results. Diamond rings, engagement rings, pendants, charms, gold. you name it.

I will be photographing some diamond rings with the Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera with the Nikon 105mm f/2.8 G VR micro lens and the Nikon FTZ adapter. I will be using the aputure MC RGBWW mini LED light.

I will also show you how I light it and what lens I use. You are going to need a good tripod and a macro micro lens. For nikon users the 105mm f2.8 G vr micro, for canon users the canon 100mm f2.8 macro L lens. If you use another camera brand use the respective macro lenses.

I will also show you what the Aputure MC RGB mini light can do to jewelry for photography and videography.

There is no right way to photograph jewelry. For example allot of product photographers like a white backdrop for advertisement purposes. I personally think white kills the look of the items. No such thing as a perfect or right or wrong way.

If you don’t own a jewelry light box. (The unit looks like a microwave) I will be showing you how to photograph jewels without a light box.
